The opportunity
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to sales, marketing, operations and executive leadership.
- Analyze revenue, margin, pricing, volume, mix, customer, product and channel performance.
- Support pricing decisions and commercial execution through structured financial analysis.
- Lead or support annual budgeting, periodic forecasting and longer-range financial planning.
- Develop scenario models to assess risks, opportunities and strategic alternatives.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reporting and variance analysis.
- Translate financial results into clear business insights, recommendations and action plans.
- Support monthly and quarterly business reviews with actual, forecast and risk-opportunity assessments.
- Evaluate sales, trade, promotional and marketing investments for return and spending efficiency.
- Conduct post-program analyses comparing expected and actual financial performance.
- Build profitability reporting by customer, channel, product, category and commercial program.
- Identify margin-expansion opportunities related to price, mix, volume, costs and investment levels.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards and recurring management-reporting packages.
- Improve forecast accuracy, reporting consistency, data integrity and planning workflows.
- Partner with accounting, technology and sales operations to strengthen reporting systems and processes.
- Manage and develop analysts, interns or other finance team members as applicable.
- Present financial insights clearly to senior stakeholders and non-finance audiences.
- Support special projects involving growth, pricing, profitability, systems and strategic planning.
What the role requires
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
- Significant experience in FP&A, commercial finance, sales finance or financial business partnering.
- Consumer products, wine, beverage, food, agriculture or hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling and performance reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze revenue, margins, pricing, customer profitability and commercial investments.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong PowerPoint presentation capabilities.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial and operational information into actionable recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with finance and non-finance audiences.
- Demonstrated people-leadership experience.
- Experience supporting wholesale sales, distributor networks, retail channels or consumer-product sales is preferred.
- Experience evaluating pricing, trade spending, promotional programs and marketing ROI is preferred.
- Experience with Power BI or another business-intelligence platform is preferred.
- Experience with ERP, forecasting, budgeting or financial-reporting systems is preferred.
- Strong project-management, organization, prioritization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work onsite in Paso Robles approximately two to three days per week.
